Vancouver’s Growlab Accelerator Graduates Its Spring 2012 Cohort

Vancouver’s up-and-coming Growlab accelerator is hosting its demo day for its spring 2012 cohort today. The program was founded in 2011 and focuses on consumer internet, social gaming, mobile and cloud services. Growlab currently runs two four-month programs per year and funds about five companies per class with $25,000 per session. Companies that are accepted into the program also have a chance of getting $150,000 in follow-up funding from Growlab and BDC Venture Capital, one of Canada’s larger VC firms.

Without further ado, here are the six companies from Growlab’s 2012 cohort that presented at demo day today, as well as a number of teams from Growlabs pre-accelerator Farm Team:

Wantering: Wantering is a fashion recommendation engine. According to Wantering, shoppers are currently overwhelmed by the amount of stores and choices they find online. The service uses Facebook Connect and a short survey to seed its recommendation engine…
