Same-sex couples plan ‘kissing day’ at Chick-fil-A locations across U.S.

Gay rights supporters are planning a “kissing day” inside Chick-fil-A locations across the U.S. on Friday in protest of the chain restaurant, whose president publicly declared he does not support same-sex marriage.

The event, organized on Facebook and planned for 8 p.m., encourages same-sex couples to show Chick-fil-A that “EVERYONE deserves to be able to fall in love, start a family, and take their children to eat fried chicken after a soccer match.

Plans for the the kissing day come after thousands of people across the United States heeded the call of two former Republican U.S. presidential candidates to eat at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday to show support for the chain restaurant as it weathers criticism for its president’s opinion.

Business was so brisk at some of the privately owned chain’s more than 1,600 locations that employees directed traffic in parking lots, lines remained long well past the lunch hour…
